Ladies, it's actually fairly easy to pick up these scammers early on in your correspondence. Here are a few hints:
1. They often have a double location, e.g. a USA or UK location plus a SA location
2. They are overly complementative and try to make you feel like the most special thing on earth.
3. They usually present themselves mostly as doctors, construction workers or someone working in the oil industry, like on oil rigs.
4. The way they use the English language is neither American, UK English or South African English and the structure flaws are easy to spot, unless your own English is not too great.
5. They always say they plan to come to SA to live here, and this is where your trouble is going to start. Once they think you're in their grip, there will be all sorts of excuses about money being tied up, with promises to repay if you can forward them the cash to get here so that you can start your life together. What a load of crap!
5. Lastly, but probably the most significant, is that they will almost immediately ask for your email address, and if you do give it and write back to them, 99% of the time it's from a YAHOO email address.
Hope the above helps a bit. I pick up on these things quite quickly and have never had the displeasure of being scammed. |

Without trying to be unsympathetic to those who willingly go to the bank to send some stranger money, where's your discretion??? To me that's not even a scam, you were just being generous, lol! I dont care what story they told you, how ''convincing'' they were, and how they appealed to your sweet, kind heart. If you can easily be scammed like that maybe you are not matured enough to use the internet #justsayin
I just cant believe that in this economy ppl can go around asking for money and you just hand it to them and feel like you've been scammed. If you feel charitable, by all means! Please I'd like you to give me some of that money too |
