I was also caught by a scammer.....luckily I didn't part with any of my money...but he dented my self confidence....now I know what to watch out for. They say 'I love you' with the speed of light, they always use superlatives when talking to you, bad spelling, etc....its just a pity that these scammers spoil the experience for everyone else!

Hi guys, yes, there are a few profiles and users here that belong to scammers. I have a way of finding out where they are making contact from and it has been my finding that most of them do so from Texas of all places. The locations are usually the same ISP so might also be a syndicate working from there. (Here goes the conspiracy part) I have also noted that they use real peoples details, and even names, the stole from other dating sites. I tend to remember photos, and have confronted a few users here. They soon disappear after that conversation, but the bottom line is, they exist, and are here too.

Patric: You can ad that to the list of things I mentioned Wink

Hi dear How are you today, I hope all is well with you .I am sorry to worry you with my Proposal for a relationship with you, but I know that you will grant my request in good sense and understanding, My name is miss shady i saw your profile today in the internet friendship site ()and became interested in you,i will also like to know more about you.. I'm hoping to hear from you soon so that I can send you more details about my self Including my picture. I believe we can move from here. Bear in mind that friendship and Love has no colors barrier, no educational back ground barrier, no social-economic Barrier, religious, language, nationality or distance barrier, the only important Thing there is love.

I don't know how many of these emails I get each day. Is she really looking for someone, or is it a scam. (A copy and paste artist)

Sad

This thing reads like a business contact written by a 10 year old. The last sentence is priceless and who on this earth would say something like that?

Hi Partick2912, I use the word dear alot, doesn't mean am a scammer...I prefer using dear then "Hun, Sweetie, Sweety, Sweetheart, Bokkie, Skatlam" & I can go on...

But do agree many scammers out there & the 1st 3 I mention is what I get in messages but I look at the spelling & the way they write...its a give away.

Have a nice day further

I have my doubts that paragraph was written by a woman. In fact I'm willing to bet on it.

True, but quite likely you don't start with "Hello Dear" in your first message Smile

Mr Genius,

Nothing wrong with My reply to Patrick....Get your nickers out a knot.

You seem to be overly sensitive, wrong and arrogant to me. if anyone's knickers are in a knot...

The paragraph I referred to was that quoted by Enzo-sa. Making assumptions can get you into a lot of trouble real fast. I sincerely suggest you review your approach when it comes to dating.

I've devised a very simple test that, so far, has worked very well. I just ask them to send me a pic of them with their right hand on their head. Naturally, you need to be diplomatic about why you would ask such a thing. Scampers will always become angry and rant about how you don't trust them.

Nice approach Wink Sure will sort out the scammers. I suppose any unusual position or object to hold will do. ie Please hold a rolling pin or fry pan.

I'll leave the girls to figure out some inventive things to check the guys out.
