Let's face it, we are are certainly spoiled for choices in Cape Town.
Here's a short list, feel free to add your own:
Kalk Bay harbour, one of my favourites. Check out the fish market, take a stroll along the pier. A magic place to visit. Kalky's restaurant is value for money if you want fish and chips.
Rhodes Memorial. Magnificent view over Cape Town. Kids love climbing up and down the steps and clambering over the lions.
Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens. A lovely spot to ramble and enjoy a picnic.
Milnerton lighthouse. A very nice beach to walk on. Lots of flotsam and jetsam gets washed up on the shore. A beachcomber's delight. I hear that there may be fossilised shark teeth if one is lucky enough to find one.
Signal Hill. Great view of Cape Town and Table Mountain.
The Saturday market at Oude Libertas in Stellenbosch is a cool place to visit. Lots of different stalls selling all sorts of goodies. The market closes at 2pm so don't be late.
Groot Constantia Wine Estate. They sell wine on Sundays and it's lovely venue where you can take in the history of the buildings and vineyards of the oldest wine farm in South Africa.
Cape Point Nature Reserve. Yes it costs a bit to get in, but you can braai at certain spots. Watch out for the baboons! Lovely place to walk.
And the list goes on...
