I've gone on a couple of 1st time meetings and I find myself debating on whether I should pick up the tab or will that diminsh his manly self? It just seems so unfair to let this stranger pay for what I've ordered.
Should ladies pay or not ? |

Interesting question that has many nuances not lest of all is the stupid idea that one owes the payee something.
The fairest is go Dutch and each pays their own. That way there is no obligation either way.
At the very least offer to pay for what you have had. A cup of coffee may be nothing but a full course meal is not.
If his manly self cannot handle it tough. You may want to keep a note of that sign. |

It's just my personal view and experience for what it is worth. That first meeting is not a date. Each gets there with preconceived ideas that may well be blown out the water. It is literally starting from new. This should be done somewhere where people can talk rather than some expensive romantic place that adds it own expectations and distractions as well as expense. This is a finding out mission if it's going further well and good but if not there are no obligations or ill feelings over expensive meals. A cup of coffee is not going to break any banks.
I don't think any of the ladies will mind meeting at a coffee shop for a cup of coffee. Concentrate on the person rather than food. - That's for the guys |

hmmm... thanks for this. I have n't been to any uhmmm "dates/meetings"as yet but I will keep all these comments in mind. it is interesting to see that some gust still like to pay for ladies even though we are now a liberated gender. It is also quite interesting to also find out that there are kind of not so right places to go for a 1st meeting. I suppose each person paying for their own meal is an option that sounds feasible. |
