Coming out of a relationship almost always leaves one bruised, broken or scarred...
Why would anyone then head straight into a new relationship when the pain of the previous relationship still lingers...
My wife left me almost 3 years ago... in these three years, I have learned to forgive, be patient and improve on my listening and caring skills...
Only now, I feel confident in taking up the challenges of a new relationship. I have met a few ladies in the last 3 years... almost all of them still struggling with forgiveness, bitterness and rejection....
No man (or woman) should be burdened with issues that could have been resolved before entering a new relationship... or not? |

Some people do hang onto the past as if it were important to the future. I like those who learn from the past and apply it to the future. Carrying emotions that are traumatic are not the way to go into any relationship and burden your partner. We need to learn to let go when required.
I would hate to think I was ever compared to somebody else. |

All people are not the same, and I would agree that now man nor women should be burdened with any issues of a past relationship. For some people the past experiences have become a like a school and lessons have been taught and taken to heart, while for others, the scars would always be there to remember them of the pain of that experience...... but it should not in any way become an obstacle to move forward in life.
Fortunately their are many ways to our disposal today that can be utilized to repair the damage of the past and move on. If we look on the internet we can find a lot of self help programs to put our lives back on track ( though I must admit it is not for everyone a preferred option) or get professional help. Happiness is a choice that we make for ourselves, as it comes from deep within. It is our birthright to be happy, and I do think that by living in, and hanging on to the past, we are truly denying ourselves the chance to create a wonderful future for ourselves. It is only in true forgiveness of others and ourselves, that we can obtain the very much needed inner peace and wisdom, to create a new life free of the burdens of the past. |
