I have not been on this site for a long time. Got a message there is mail for me. Not just one but 3 mails....how lucky can a girl be. First one...no profile information. Second one standard scammer hello dear mail. Third one ultra scammer you are so beautiful even though I don't have a photo on here.
Was it worth wasting data and time.... don't think so. Internet dating sites are so infested with scammers that it is not fun anymore. |

Yep all dating sites are unfortunately riddled with scammers. We just need to watch for the signs and use a bit of common sense I guess. I am very suspicious when asked:
1. To go on hangouts (gmail)
2. No camera on PC (scammers camera's always seem to be broken :p)
3. Not even a microphone for audio (poor poor scammers, their mic's are also broken)
4. They are working somewhere far away and need to send you a package
5. They have an ill family member and are caring for them in Ghana/Nigeria etc..
6. They are American but working in Africa as above!
7. If they use the word "dear"
There are many more signs, just got to keep our wits about you! Sincerely hope no scammers read the above and make adaptations lol.

That's a very accurate list! Just FYI as Admin all reported profiles are deleted instantly, including all in this thread so far. |

Nearest city is also a dead give away as they don't know South Africa so Durban can be close to Cape town according to their profile.
I have been around long enough to spot them easily. Very glad to see that adminactively get rid of them. Lots of desperately lonely people who get caught by them way too often. |

Hi guys
Ive only been a member for a few weeks now
but i have already been approached by at least 3
of these cat-fishing vermin
I came up with a simple-ish solution
in my profile , under interrests , What do you do for fun?
I put this in the box :
Prospective CAT-FISHERS TAKE NOTE , For Fun I FIND + REPORT CAT-FISHERS UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES WILL I EVER SEND MONEY TO SOME1 THAT I HAVENT MET IN PERSON , SO DONT EVEN TRY ! , SERIOUSLY.
I used that box because when viewing My profile , if they scroll down
to read the desciptive stuff , its the 1st message that they see
Since doing so , I havent had another 1 try theyre Luck with me yet
It seems to be working...
Feel free to copy paste it into Ur profiles if U want
